  • Welcome to the VCE course!

    In this module you will:

    • receive an orientation to the course objectives, to the PDA software and hardware,
    • meet other participants
    • become familiar with the procedures for successfully taking this course.
  • In this module you will:

    • use a data dictionary spreadsheet to set up a table
    • develop a basic survey and
    •  test the survey.
  • In this module you will:

    • modify an existing form,
    • assign a global variable,
    • create a macro for clearing the variable,
    • import data using a spreadsheet to import locations for dependent drop down boxes,
    • adjust indexing of columns and
    • test the programme.
  • In this module you will:

    • use global variables for counting,
    • develop an age macro and a show/hide macro, 
    • programme multiple loops through one form within a survey and
    • display entered or calculated variables on the screen to provide feedback.
  • In this level you will:

    • use global variables for subsampling,
    • make a show/hide macro, 
    • create a skip based on data stored in global variables, and 
    • take a GPS reading and store it in a VCE form.
  • In this module you will prepare your PDA to get ready for surveys including:

    • "locking down" the PDA,
    • allowing access for administrator,
    • power-off from the screen, 
    • displaying owner information,
    • customize start menu, and
    • 'Tweaks'.
